My eldest step-daughter Janie was the social butterfly. She had a soft-spot for all the kids in trouble. So we had every mid-teen gangsta grafitti-tagger from ( name of city ) in and out of the house. Her mother Julia and I might as well have been a halfway-house for at risk youth.

My youngest, Ellen, was a bookish child like her parents, so there weren't any other cute 9yr olds staying at our place.

Both girls are now adults, so cherish your moments before they grow up.
