posing anthropolgical just so stories isn't science, but if you read journals like 'behaviour' you will see that evolutionary stable strategies are complex, multifaceted & often counterintuitive. there is abundant scope for kin selection or any of many other population gene dynamics to play a role in pedophilia.

the fact that there is a 'pedophilic' aspect to many interactions between adults & children suggests that the adaptive advantages of this response run deep in our biology, & looking at other species, i think its pretty obvious that this is so. just look at the endocrinology of vasopressin & oxytocin, & its dual role in nurture & sexual behaviour.

animals never exist in lonely isolation, & any behaviour that influences their interaction will be subject to selective pressure.

...what i think anyway.
