Grocery store GM

I went out to get a few groceries and on my way to the checkout, I saw a girl, about 11, standing at the little starbucks outlet they have there. She was very pretty with black hair past her shoulders, fair skin and big bright blue eyes. I walked past and got in line and started putting my groceries on the conveyer belt and gave her a few more passing glances, then started checking out the magazines.

About a minute later, someone gets in line behind me and I look back and sure enough, IT'S HER! As soon as I turned to look at her, she looks up at me and flashes me the brightest smile and says "hi" and I say hi back. She starts putting her groceries on the belt and the whole time, she keeps looking at me with a smile. Every once in a while I look back at her and again and smile back. It was a totally genuine smile she was giving me too, not just one of politeness. At this point I'm feeling kind of awkward and trying to think of something to say to her when I realize it's my turn at the till. I start going through my wallet looking for my cards but I'm so flustered that I seem to have lost all my fine motor skills and after retrieving my cards after much fumbling, I ungracefully drop my wallet on the floor sending coins all over the place. D'OH!

I look back at the girl and say "oops", the most intelligent thing I can think of at the time, and she laughs. While I'm paying for my food, she bends down and starts picking up my coins for me. When I'm finished, I get down and help and just say "I'm such a clutz". She hands me her handful of coins and I thank her and once again she flashes me that bright smile and says goodbye to me.

I must have been red from embarassment and then I look up at her dad who is standing behind her and looking at me funny. I smile one last time at her and say goodbye and make a quick exit.

I must have looked like a complete oaf.
