Yes, in that sense she is indeed being "thoughtful," because making a name tag for someone requires her to actively think about them.
Admittedly, it probably serves no useful purpose.

She's 8 years old, for heaven's sake - give her a break.
From what? What, exactly, did I accuse her of doing wrong? I suggested she was doing something useless, not that she was doing anything wrong.
She still has some learning to do about what is actually useful -
No argument there.
but she is already thinking about what she can do for others, and that counts for a lot.
Did I say it didn't? I was just wondering if name tags served any useful purpose. Can't a guy ask a simple question around here?
