When I was invited here I had very similar misgivings. Actually, worse.

Let's face it, you guys (or by this point, should I be saying "we") don't exactly have a good reputation online.

I don't trust anyone at the level you're suggesting. Even people I know in real life I don't send identifying information over the net.
