* Other projects proposed by members of the alliance, which may include conferences, scientific research, political action, or other forms of activism.

Well that's just copied from the website(s) and doesn't quite convey what is meant. Also it's "projected" activism rather than "actual" activism - a wish-list (or even wishful thinking).

I think you would need to have a current, actual activism project underway, that people could identify with and support, that needed extra money to continue. If there were more than one project, people would need to be able to choose which one to support.

The method of donation could also be something of a problem, as many people aren't familiar with the methods give, or may be unsure as to how secure it is or whether it is proof against legal action (or, for example, a "raid" on Martijn). Cash is perhaps better, but I think I would want to be able to include a "donation name" to be quoted on the website (together with the amount) to be sure that it had got through. And I think registed mail would compromise the anonymity.
