One Happy Tama (I guess its technically a few GMs)

So back in May, I lost my job at as a daycare assistant. There wasn't any big thing that happened, but rather a bunch of little things that eventually added up. Needless to say, I was going out of my mind without my kids, so I went back to visit... I can't go back very often, because it would send mixed signals to the little ones, but I did get to visit near the end of June. I kept my sanity by feeding off of the happiness I got from that visit, but there were several of my kids that I didn't get to see then, so I was always planning on going back during the day (before the little ones start getting picked up by their parental units).

I tried to go back a couple weeks ago, the first friday in August, but my new job at Taco Bell got in the way, so I phoned and said that I had the day off the following Monday. However, that was a holiday in Canada, known as the Civic Holiday or "We really want August to have a stat holiday, so let's make one up", so the daycare was closed.

So that brings us to this past Friday. I popped in because I had just been given my scedule from the Land of the Cruchwrap Supremes and therefore I could arrange a day to come in and visit. I did, but my old supervisor also said I could visit today. Yay for me! Two visits! It must be said at by now, I was getting pretty depressed, because while all my kids are very special to me in many different ways, there is this one girl that I am totally and completely in love with (though I hide it well)!

So I went out to where my kids play when they are outside, and was greeted by a young boy who is quite special to me, and my girl, who recently turned 7 years old. I swear the sun rises and set with this girl. Anyways, both their faces lit up like a Christmas Tree the second they saw me. The boy took my hand as soon as I opened the gate and pulled me over against the wall of the school and told me in no uncertain terms to "sit down", which in itself is amazing because although he's very expressive, he's not very verbal.*

The girl, as is her way, just followed along beside us, happy to go wherever the boy was leading me. Then we all sat down, and eventually the boy lost interest (although he did steal my hat at one point, and plop himself on my shoulders, not letting go until I literally pried her off of me) and various others popped in and out, it was mostly just me and my girl.

She ended up telling me about the movie Ella Enchanted, which randomly popped in her lovely little head at some point. I of course hung off of every word, blissfully happy. She went on and on about this movie, but the thing is I couldn't tell you much about it because she didn't make a whit of sense. :) She'd start a sentence, which would then spark a question for me. Then after I answered her question, her train of thought would be broken, so she'd either go on to something completely new, or go over the same thing over and over again. It was all so adorable!

Eventually I went to where the JK/SK aged kids were so I could hang with her brother for a while. I saw one of my little JK girls. Even though I was never in their room, all the JK girls (and most of the boys) were quite fond of me. While I was chilling with them, I was drawing a picture of me, my girl and her brother... I'm no artist, but its enough to get by in a daycare. :)

Eventually, my girl and the rest of the older kids who hadn't yet been picked up came in and I finished my picture, which my girl took home with her. (I offered it to her brother, but he wasn't interested.) After a while, their mom came and took them home, so I had a wireless battle with one of my older boys using our Nintendo DSes. (The DS Lite by the way is one great system! He was the last one left, so once he got picked up, I left for home. I was so happy I practically skipped to the bus stop. :) The best part being that I was coming back in less than a week!
