Yay for preschools! [GMs]

What wonderful world would be a world where teachers are encouraged to cuddle preschoolers? The world I have recently entered, apparently. They told me all about how cuddling is important to a child's development in class, but I was dubious of how much it would really be 'encouraged' in the field placement - after all, I am in possession of [sarcasm] the evil gene (aka a Y chromasome). [/sarcasm]

But no - to my surprise, no one even blinked the entire day, even when I was helping corral kids that weren't technically in my room. It was a very rewarding day, even beyond that - the staff were all supportive and helpful and of course just being back in a daycare setting was amazing. But it was different for me too, because even when I was in a center last year, I was in school age.

My favourite moment was really early in the day, shortly after I was introduced to the little ones. One girl had already attached herself to me, and she, while holding my arm, randomly called out to everyone "This is mine."

How can you not smile at that?
