....what a wonderful story. When I feel, again, that the world is against me, tales like yours warm my heart. I've been there and I would love to be there again. Not possible at this stage.
I DO love "...bend down, and she tells me it's her birthday. She's six now." - don't they treasure their new status in life? Growing another 'year' is such an achievement....
Too bad they grow a few too many new numbers...... [sigh]
