Free Speech

Most people's support of free speech extends to giving it a lot of lip-service. ( pardon the expression.)

They can see the value when it comes to their personal expression of that freedom. But they can't think abstractly enough to extend it to others. And their zeal to repeal shows itself when they see examples that run counter to their own.

Its good old fashioned hypocrisy.

Worse yet, almost anyone will argue against expanding the powers and reach of the law to encroach on their expressions of liberty, but they're all in favor of empowering the beast to devour their neighbors.

Well, this is the kind of thinking that Federalism leads us to. The notion that there are no rights; only priveledges granted by our Governments.
