First, you have no idea what was said in Spanish, since it was never mentioned. You think her reply was due to the fact that it was said in a language other than English. Obviously you never considered the fact that her reply could have been to what was said.

That's inferrable from the original post. I didn't make it up. LOD never mentioned what was said, so I can't assume either way.

Second, your inference that the girl could not speak Spanish is ageism; an insult to every multi-lingual child.

I didn't infer it; that's just what LOD's post sounds like. At most it was LOD who inferred it wrongly, if it was ever inferred wrongly. In either case, without asking the girl herself, I chose to go with LOD's inference. Maybe that's a mistake - and I can certainly accept that. I was a multi-lingual child, so I am not unaware that some children do speak several languages - but just from that post I wouldn't be inclined to assume the girl in question spoke Spanish.

Third, IT IS NOT RACISM; at worst it is language-ism. See how silly that sounds?
