I think you would get the same reaction at ANY website directed at ANY specific minority - sexual, racial, religious, political, whatever - if you popped up there to express your "strong criticism" towards what defines it. It's true, most pedophiles try to rationalize that their behavior should be accepted as being normal (conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural); however when an opinion is given otherwise that opinionated person is slapped down!

Actually, most pedophiles try to conform to societal expectations, just like many gays used to (and no I am not pushing the analogy any further). It's a minority that tries to rationalise, like us at GC. And yes, we tend to slap people down because, realistically, we haven't found any argument that isn't defeatable rationally.

Through our disagreements, I still highly respected Todd, even at what I consider his worst; I respect Moth, Lux and Taffy, who many consider antis or almost because of their positions; despite the endless debates on theology I respect the Atheists and Christians here; despite the debates on politics I respect the lefties... really, there's very few people here I don't respect (yes, there are some), and still, I am in disagreement with everyone else over something else which I consider important.
