sadly, starting over may be your best option

Unfortunately, in today's world, private individuals, privately-owned companies, and to a lesser extent publicly-traded companies are free to declare you persona non grata without cause. Businesses that are open to the public and government agencies like bus lines can do so with cause, however flimsy.

Unless you plan on living the rest of your life unwelcome by those around you, you may want to consider just "starting over."

How to start over:

0) start keeping a low profile. Wait for the attention by all but the die-hards to die down.

1a) move. Forward your mail to a friend or relative.
1b) change your appearance.
1c) change your name.

Do all of these at about the same time.

Don't get too settled. Keep a low profile for a few months then move again and change your appearance again.

After 7 years, the length of time for a typical credit report, change your name and appearance again and consider moving again.

Now, you can start your life over. As long as you don't become a publicly-out pedophile or try to get a job that deals with kids, nobody will connect the dots.

Another option that might be easier:
Emigrate. However, this might not be easy if the pressure is on. Talk to someone who is an expert with the country you wish to emigrate to.
