But that of course, only furthers my reasoning for avoiding GM for the confusion with other terms, whereas I do not know of any common use of LM.

You are correct however, I should say roleplaying games... however, despite rocket-propelled grenades preceding roleplaying games, they are not a common topic of discussion, unlike RPGs (and their game masters) which totally are.
