snap! (a rare kea gm)

just a couple of days ago, i was sitting in the fish & chip shop waiting for my order, listening to my headphones and zoning out with my face in the newspaper.

i beautiful little indian girl, probably 9 or 10, came in with her dad, and i could not stop myself from stealing glances at her from my paper. eventually, since nobody was looking my way, i gave up resisting and just stared at her.

then suddenly she turned and there was no mistaking her recognition that she was the object of my focus. she gazed back for a moment, probably trying to work out if i was somebody she knew. i gave her an embarrassed smile and went back to my paper, hoping i hadn't made her feel uncomfortable.

i was in another world, with my music and the paper, when next thing a hand is waving frantically in my face! there she is, jumping up and down six inches from my elbow, the most friendly, open smile on her face, her gorgeous dark eyes filled with laughter, yelling at me your chips are ready!.

i wanted to give her a hug, just for bringing me such an unexpected moment of pleasure. i grinned and thanked her and she waved as i left with my dinner. her dad gave me a big smile as well.

i love my life sometimes.
