Your link reference to Ma Vie en Rose reminded me how painful it is (for me, anyway) to watch that movie. I thought is was a great film, and the actor who played the lead gave an amazing performance. He was entirely believable in his role, and was attractive as both a boy and a girl. The way he was treated by his family and neighbors made me angry. I just wanted to reach out and give him a hug, so many times.
