I don't think you needed Carte Blanche', I think you were looking for anything so that you could satisfy your ego-maniacal need to feel like you are in a grand struggle against those confounded Atheists who dare to malign your Faith. You know, that minority group that along with everyone else who believes in the concept of separation of Church and State: Is fighting tooth-and-nail to keep America from back-sliding towards a delightful pastoral pastiche of Feudal Europe?
Still, if you wish to banter about projection, perhaps you should consider what Religious institutions serve and that is projections of Human Ideals. just like Human Nature, they are highly imperfect and just as capable of being Conscious in nature and promoting insight and goodwill, or acting with the Unconscious drive for survival at the exclusion of all else. Just like how certain animals will kill and eat their own young in order to protect their young and survive.
Many people have this idea of Evil as being a Conscious force in the World but the Truth is more esoteric and since the Esoteric nature of Western religions have been eroded throughout their tenure: This concept is often not fully understood by the adherents of such religions. Evil acts never stem from conscious awareness, every act of Evil ever perpetrated on this Earth has been performed as a blind, Unconsciousness act of projections without awareness.
When you categorize me as an Atheist and having an irrational and obsessive Hatred of your Faith, you do so automatically without awareness or any consideration of what my own feelings really are. You do so Unconsciously.
