I'm confused

I read and enjoyed both your GMs very much djcide but I'm very confused about one thing.

If you are female, then I would not think anything strange about lots of people seeking your babysitting skills. From your text, I assume you are male though and it doesn't make any sense.

These days, where I come from absolutely NOBODY hands their kids over to a single male to babysit. I think this is a great shame by the way! If they ever do then they may consider letting a guy babysit boys but never girls.

I have been fortunate enough to babysit lots of times but only for direct relations. In all my years, despite having a daughter myself, I only very occasionally had a friend of hers over after school by myself, and never overnight unless my wife was checked in and present. If you are married people will be ok about you babysitting as long as the woman is there.

So you see, where I live people are paranoid in the extreme. I'm confused that a work colleague, that you don't know well, dropped by and handed his kids over to you. I think it is a great shame and a loss that the world has come to this. Warm and gentle male affection is only viewed with suspicion now.
