"The guy had a history of sexual abuse, and why would anyone think this was different."

He was convicted for ten counts of the same charge in two different cases. The incidents were all from '04-'06 and his contact with children was via teaching, meaning that he would have been suspended when charged and was therefore not acting with any official history of "sexual abuse". There is no mention of a charge or conviction of breaching a restriction.

The most extreme behaviour explained in the article was inducing girls to suck treacle from a banana (eight of the ten counts). It is likely that the two counts from the other case were in relation to equally or less "severe" behaviour.

From where are you getting this information about a "history of abuse" that exceeds the "severity" of the banana-sucking games? Is it from the same curiously imaginative streak that allows you to jump from a tasting game to fellatio?

"This guy might have been a girl lover, or he might have been a pervert predator."

In your mind, what distinguishes these two groups, and why is there apparently no grey zone?

"Having blindfolded girls suck things off bananas to get yourself off is not something a girl lover would do."

It is obviously not illegal to play tasting games with girls. The difference you identify is that this individual derived erotic pleasure from the imagery it evoked. What is a Girl Lover if he is not someone who unlike others, derives erotic pleasure from these and/or similar things?

"This man had no respect for these girls and treated them as nothing more than sex objects."

How do you know what relationship he had with his pupils?

Define "sexual object".
