Still interested in tumbling down small hills and wrestling, but beginning to take an interest in others as much as in themselves.

The logical process by which they recognize that other people are as real to themselves as the girl is to herself is cementing. Altruism really kicks in here.

Of course I speak pretty much of the one 9 year old I knew particularly well.

Ellen loved to wrap herself in her favorite bedsheet and roll around on the carpet grabbing family by their ankles. Imagine dragging a carpet caterpillar halfway across the house?
