How do I begin to say what a wonderful day I had today? I’m sure some of you have read my posts and seen me talk about “Betty” before. Well, tomorrow is her 12th birthday, but we had a little get together of just adults today to give her her gifts since she will be having a party tomorrow with all her friends.

While I was there, we went outside and chased her around the yard and I got to pick her up and carry her over my shoulders a couple of times and held her there while her dad gave her some birthday spankings *LOL*. When we went back inside, her mother asked if we had been playing on the trampoline. I said I didn’t even know they had a trampoline and Betty jumps up and holds her hand out to me and says “Come on”. I took her hand and she led me outside and jumped up onto the trampoline and started bouncing up and down and doing flips. A few minutes later her dad got on it with her and was jumping also, and I decided to join them. Her dad and I tried to get her to go as high as possible and believe me, that wasn’t a pretty sight *LOL*. We couldn’t get a good rhythm going and kept falling all over each other. I even stepped on Betty’s fingers one time and had to kiss them better *grin*. Her dad got off the trampoline and Betty and I jumped around for a little while longer. At one point she was facing me and she took both my hands in hers and we jumped up and down together. When we were done (mostly because I was out of breath), we went back inside and had cake and ice cream. While we were sitting there I asked if they had seen the movie Twilight and if it was any good. Betty was the first to speak up and say how great it was *LOL*. Sadly, the day ended all too soon, but it was a wonderful day spent with a beautiful lg…

Now for the best part though. As I was driving home, my phone rang and it was Betty’s mom. She told me that Betty wanted to know if I would like to go with them to see Twilight since I haven’t seen it yet. What floored me was that it wasn’t Betty’s mom’s idea to invite me, but Betty’s. It made me feel so good inside that she cared enough to even think of it. I haven’t felt this good in a long time.
