Wonderful post, Spike

I only wish that I had made that much of a difference in a girl's life in the past. But I never have, and probably never will. I make my difference not by interacting with them personally (most of the time) but by fighting for their rights behind the scenes. Still, it must be truly wonderful, not to mention a very good feeling, to have made such a difference in the life of one special girl directly and personally. I'm glad you and this girl are still friends and I'm glad she has been so successful in life. I know it must have saddened you when she gradually faded from your life after she moved away (even though you had accepted it as the natural way of these things), and it's terrific to hear that she never forgot about you. No one who could influence a girl's life in such a positive way could possibly be a monster. These life experiences put our detractor's words to shame.
