Thank you for this response, Balancer. I recently heard something similar from a friend that I completely respect. I was unaware of Samantha's testimony. I do think it's a bit strange that he was able to plea bargain down to 'statuatory rape' if he committed an act of actual rape, and it's even more strange that Samantha bears him no malice anymore. But in light of what you told me here, and what a greatly respected friend of mine told me the other night, I strongly question whether we should support Roman Polanski if he actually committed an act of forcible rape.
