A lovely girl moment (sigh!)

After being stood up for a social date this evening, I decided to take a walk to one of our neighborhood stores for the hell of it. When I was about 2 blocks from my home (still grumbling to myself about the lost date), I heard a cheerful "Hello!" from behind. To my great joy, it turned out to be one of the lovely angels in my area who socializes w/ me on occasion :) She pulled up on her bike and we exchanged greetings.
We walked and chatted for another 2 blocks when she asked which way I was going. I indicated South and she asked if I would mind if she tagged along to which I readily agreed. She wound up riding her bike along side me for nearly 3 miles (round trip) and talked nearly the entire time. :) She seemed to be in very high spirits over all.

As I sit here and smile over the time spent w/ her earlier, I consider just how far off base the typical anti/'soccer mom'/'expert'/media type is when it comes to folks such as ourselves. Contrary to assumptions made by our enemies, I did not try to 'seduce' or 'groom' her in any way during our extended conversation. Topics we covered included roller skating, my mom, food, school, teachers, my work place, a friend of mine, our shared neighborhood, a former pal of hers and some recent muggings that took place in the area. All B.S. and hysteria aside, exactly WHAT is so 'sinister', 'scary' or 'sexual' about those topics, mr. or mrs. 'anti' ?? Maybe the next time a middle aged woman talks w/ me about the weather, I should assume she is 'grooming' me and move away before I get 'lured in', is that how it works ?? As we passed by several darkened alley ways, I made sure to watch out for traffic or other dangers. How's THAT for a contrast to the stereotype of what we 'perverts' supposedly do to little girls passing by darkened and deserted areas!! Bottom line: When your kids walk w/ TRUE pedo/ephebophiles, Mr. and Mrs. John/Joan Q. Public, they COME HOME SAFE!

I made sure she got to her block safely and then we parted ways.
By the way, I never heard from my prospective date, nor did I ever make it to the store, but at this point, I'm too happy to be concerned about either. My little neighbor friend is happy, I'm at peace and the world is good. :)
