About writing: I'm constantly frustrated because I cannot write anything good in English without a great struggle. My sentences are much simpler than those I have in mind in my own language; my active vocabulary is about one tenth of my vocabulary in my own language(s); I don't know the correct prepositions or idioms or idiomlike expressions - such as try as he might, set your mind at ease, please fill me in on, at long last, etc. etc. etc. - and if I try to write a longer message, I must proofread and check it many times.

In the past I wrote some long things, even stories, but it took time. Unfortunately all those old writings have disappeared, and I don't have copies of them.

And don't say that I write well. It would be an insult. Satisfactory is not the same as good. I am not satisfactory; I am good - or to say it straight, sometimes even excellent. But not in English.

I'm sleepy, I did not want to wake up this early. I think I'll have a cup of coffee and go back to bed.
