A few do, no doubt. But I have noticed in all my experience on this board (and others like it) over the past nine and a half years that it's exceedingly difficult for someone who is NOT a genuine MAA to effectively pretend to be one to those of us who are MAAs and thus know perfectly well how the typical genuine MAA behaves and thinks, because even those people who claim they read our board frequently in order to get an idea on how MAAs act tend to inevitably assume that acting like the media conceived version of pedos and hebes will make them seem authentic. This is, of course, because they believe that most or all of the stereotypes about us are true (if they didn't, far less of them would be attempting to hunt us down and out or imprison us, as opposed to simply attempting to learn more about us in a genuine way). Thus, most of these people cannot distinguish between the fantasy image of how MAAs think and act and the reality, because their personal beliefs, biases, and assumptions tend to get in the way. It's even MORE rare for an infiltrator to effectively convey a pro-choice attitude, at least over a long period of time, or conversely, attempt to come off as so outrageously and unreasonably pro-choice that they raise red flags immediately with their caricature-like behavior.
Seriously i get so paranoid that im sitting here thinking that as much as u seem to advocate people to be themselves u could be a really good troll.
A "really good troll" is almost an oxymoron. If you are thinking, instead, that I may be a very effective anti infiltrator simply because I ask people to "be themselves," then you may mistakenly believe that I advocate for people on these boards to give out personal details that may help identify them or make an effective profile rather than simply making it clear what their views or general personality is like. Most people on this board do not reveal their pro-choice views (if they have them) to anyone but the most trusted people in their offline lives (if that). Simply acting like a decent and trustworthy person who has a genuine respect for the girls he (or she) is attracted to is not going to be easily identified. And I will add that purposely acting caricature-like simply for the purpose of hiding your real gentler and benign side does nothing but hurt this community by making it appear that there are a good number of us who do indeed adhere to the common steretypes.
Dont u catch more bees with honey? & wouldnt a really good troll ensure his secret by acting as a helpful advocate all the while having peds eating out of his hands? & wouldnt he focus on people like me who seem to have alot of contact with kids?
If I was a generally good infiltrator, I would likely be doing two things in response to posters who make the type of posts that you usually do: 1) I would collect and archive these posts and cut and paste them on anti sites as "proof" or good "evidence" that MAAs are truly the sex-starved pervs that the antis always claim we are, and 2) I would be doing my best to pretend to support you and attempting to make friends with you and establish offboard contact with you and trying to get you to "open up" to me more. And I mentioned up above how difficult it is for a genuine anti to pretend to be authentic to real MAAs over a long period of time (even though I have no doubt that it CAN happen).
The point is where does the hysteria stop? It cant because it has no end so why even start it? We should just all keep extremely private....Then again thats exactly wat a good troll would say. Wait, & so is that....& so is that...& so is that, its like a dog chasing its tail. Also u cant trust sm1 who acts like they have nothing to lose. Its like u ppl want to drive sm1 so crazy with doubt that they out themselves just to prove theyre real. U cant prove that in ur trusted group there isnt 1 troll can u? Theres only one answer & its no.
As I have said before, while there is usually no way to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt whether or not someone posting on this board (or any board with any sort of topic, for that matter) are genuinely who or what they claim to be, there are most often indications and hints that can make a troll or anti quite obvious. It's not as extremely difficult to make an educated guess in most of these cases as you seem to think it is. And it's not a total hysteria if there really are people out there trying to get you. Though I agree that we shouldn't let our legitimate concerns get out of hand and start pointing fingers at every single newbie who appears (as a few people admittedly do), I think the great majority of us give the benefit of the doubt to any newbie who doesn't do typical trollish things that may raise a red flag.
