Well, I don't really know what others have really written here in response to your post (though, maybe that's negligent of me...)

But, I will say one thing - children are every bit as important as adults...

I'm a bit split on this one - (please help me out here, Dissy, 'cos I really am confused...!).

Hey, the way that I look at it is this... Kids have every right to make up their own minds about stuff, along with anyone else. And in my experience, if there's anything kids can do well, is make up their own minds...

Also kids are not 'worth' more than grown ups. (Sorry, all my little friends). On the other hand, grown ups are not worth more than kids (yay!... all my little friends!).

I will aghree that all of my little friends may be more prone to being bamboozled and conned by others - all the more reason for us peds to be there, is what I say, 'cos I don't know about you, but I'm actually there for the kids, and I'm there to make sure that they aren't conned...

Kids are far from poor, helpless nothings - in fact to call them such I feel is actually a downright insult to them!

The children that we see before us today, are not only our future, our well-being, and our crust in old age - they are their own sentient beings, with their own will, their own desires, and their own wants, which we must, as the outgoing wisdom of our own age, give to them, and gladly do so, as well.

The Lord alone knows - the kids can't abuse it any more than our generation have.

And, if we have enough foresight, and the wisdom to teach the children how to take things forward (something that has been very sadly lacking over the past 150 odd years), we might actually make something decent of this society of ours. The kids, without the political interference of so many would-be leaders, have the right idea, already. Can you not hear them? can the world not hear the Samantha Smiths, and all the other children that give the same message.

The kids are ok - it's us bastards, us adults, who fuck things up...

I'd far rather a world led by children, to be honest, than a world led by the idiocy & corruption, and nonsense, that us adults spew out...

But, there is nothing 'pure' or 'weak' about kids. Fine, I'll gove you that their physical stature might make you think that they're weak.

Against that though, I've seen a 8 year old take down a 300 pound guy before now - there really is nothing 'weak' about kids! We have to get away from this western idea of 'strong' and 'weak' - the western world has no fucking idea about any of that crap, it so doesn't...

In fact, if we are ever to progress, we have to lose all of our age-ism towards our young people - the kids have some very good ideas, as do the adults. Thing is the adults fell a bit 'icky' about working with the kids. But the kids generally are okay about working with ther adults, so long as their taken seriously...

I spent a long time as a teacher, and I know that mutual respect works. And it was the adults who hated that that got me out of that profession, and (as I still hear from them now), it was the kids who suffer.

Which to this very day I feel bad about.

Anyway, rant over.

But, the kids are ok. They'll always be ok, until the sheer hell that is adulthood is visited upon them, with all it's absurdities, perversities and corruption of the mind & self. It's society that's fucked. And when the hell will it wake up to that one goddamn thing?

Look, guys - you don't have to worry about us pedos. It's you who you ought to examine. That's right - you, with all your smugness & self-rightiousness. You, YOU are the menace to society! And, you are an enemy to the children...

To answer your question, Stahn, I never want the value of chldren to be decreased. I would rather the so-far invincible value of the adult was tamed, so as to acknowledege the real value of children... We are, after all, human - why should one come above the other?

T.
