Citr, You totally see the question I was putting forth, as does most of the others who responded.
I was indeed wondering if anyone here thought that maybe the only way adult/child relations would ever be accepted, is if people didn't care any more about the wellbeing of the young, as they do about any old stranger (or even homeless person).

I often do tend to think that only after the majority of adults are no more concerned with the welfare of some child-stranger (i.e. - the willingness to help a child-stranger who is in real need, over an adult-stranger who is in real need), will this taboo begin to die. I don't like that this is how I see it. And I wish people had more real compassion and true concern for the interests of others. But this is nevertheless how I most often see it. I myself am a compassionate person. But I still feel that unfortunately this is how it will go down.
