I think that I may have misunderstood your post, Stah...

If you mean (and I think that you did) that everyone is worthy of help, compassion, love, and a chance when needed, you are absolutely right.

And, we do need to sto treating children like they're the finest Dresden china, always terrified of letting the (very important) experience of life 'damage them'. That truly is an absolute nonsense, as I think I've pointed out elsewhere on this thread.

So, I think that I understand what you were trying to say now - and I agree with you...

But, it's not a matter of caring less for others; more a matter of caring more wisely for them. We do no-one any kindness by preventing them from learning any lessons.

OT I know, but tonite I have to get on to writing the email I owe you (and the ones I owe others, too). Having a few connectivity problems getting online - it's a bit patchy - but I'll do my best.
