... the law is after the fact. it does not decide how the seduction of children is perceived by society.

personally, i think it's wrong to seduce children because it is cheating them out of and distorting the emergence of their sexual autonomy. i am as opposed to parents seducing children with gifts in order to influence their behaviour as i am opposed to paedophiles seducing them into sexual acts.

i'm not saying i've never acted seductively myself. a person who loves children needs to be extremely vigilant and selfless to avoid ever being seductive, but i can say i've never sought any kind of sexual favour from a child, by this means or any other, and i think it's wrong to do so.

if a child's own sexual curiosity leads her to seek adult participation in her researches then, personally, i think in many circumstances it's benign for the adult to comply, altho this is obviously not allowed at the current time. i think it's healthy for children to be sexual with whoever they wish, provided they are safe, but i won't be convinced that seducing children, for sex or anything else, can ever be a decent way to act.

and i don't care about your stupid artificial category of pro/anti 'choice'. it's a meaningless distinction, and a total distraction from the things we should be attending to.
