The AoC laws often work in cahoots with parental power, not against it, since most parents use those laws to their advantage, and many parents' groups have fought to raise the AoC laws (as they did a few years ago in Hawaii). Parents in no way suffer for their kids having their sex lives controlled by the state in most cases, because the majority of parents do not want their kids to engage in sexual activity with anyone at all. I do not involve myself in debates over whether it should be the parents or the state that has proprietary ownership of kids, because both already do in many ways, and both sides ignore the fact that children shouldn't be the property of anyone else, either the state or parents, or the current combination of the two. In many ways, however, parental control over kids is enforced by the state, and only in a few rare instances do parents and the state come into conflict over who gets to make the decisions for the kids.
