I've spent hours having discussions with you.

Back when I still thought there was a point to it. Go look in the archives, and you'll find page upon page of me considering your objections and providing empirical support for mine. On the rare occasion where you provided something that went beyond empty ideology, I even changed my opinion about something.

It's disingenuous for you to lie and say we don't provide empirical evidence to support our views. My views have been wholly formed by empirical evidence. I had them long before I even knew GC existed -- I used to think that intergenerational sex was wrong too, until I found scientific evidence to show that there was nothing inherently harmful in it. I've provided that evidence to you, pages and pages of it, time and time again, and you are the one who has responded, not with evidence of your own, but unfalsifiable arguments such as "it COULD be dangerous... we don't KNOW what would happen, and any risk is too small."

By all means, if you think I'm wrong in any way, and you have a real claim with actual empirical evidence to back it up, then bring it on. I'm fully willing to entertain the fact that I need to adjust my position; I just haven't seen anything from you in recent memory that has been worthy of that kind of consideration.

Why do you stay here? You know that the reason people don't like you is not because they disagree with you. They don't like you because you've called them names, you complain that we're all immature because you don't like the way we argue, you've made (admittedly toothless) threats to everyone here, and you continue to act as if you're a misunderstood hero with a sense of entitlement instead of someone who has hurt a lot of feelings and needs to make amends.

There are plenty of people here who don't agree with us that we like just fine. I love it that kea is here, and I love it when he disagrees with me, because it makes me think. He also hasn't insulted me or threatened me. He's respectful and knowledgeable. The discussion between him and Dissident was heated, but nobody was accusing each other of being a cult member.

So I ask again, why do you stay here? There's nobody holding a gun to your head. You clearly don't feel like GC provides you with support. You've managed to alienate almost everyone here (with your personality, not your views on pedophilia). You admitedly don't care about the 'movement' anymore. There are other MAA forums out there. You're more than welcome to start your own, in fact. So why even lurk here? I mean, you're as welcome here as anyone else, but there's nothing forcing you to stay. It's not like this is a compound where we're going to lock the gates when you try to go. Just close the browser window.
