Girls at the Grocery, vol. II

Ok so this one's not nearly as wacky as Dissident's... pretty ordinary, in fact, but it fits the theme:

I needed a few items today, so I headed for the store, regretting having not done so earlier when I would have been more likely to encounter some cuties. As I was walking toward my last item, I realized there was no cause for dismay -- two girls, about 10 and 11, were bouncing back and forth between the shelves, comparing something and talking to each other.

I headed toward the checkout and found out they had a younger sister, about 7. At least I assume they were sisters -- they were there with mom, and my guess is they were getting back from a weekend trip and doing some restocking for the week. I decided I wanted one more item for a treat, and as I walked by I overheard the younger two talking:

Younger sister: "I'll buy it for you if you [didn't catch quite what, sounded like an offer to do some kind of chore]!"

Middle sister: "You can't afford that. That's $10!"

This time, heading for the checkout for real, I said hi to the middle sister (the other one had disappeared somewhere), who had the cart. She said hi back and smiled.

As I completed checkout, I glanced back one more time to see what they were up to... this time mom was pushing the cart and the oldest was riding :D (it was one of those long cars with the big seats before the basket. I always think it's funny when parents let their older kids ride in the cart!) A few seconds later, middle sister came shuffling after them, carrying younger sister, who appeared as though she had nodded off or was about to any minute. It must have been a long day!

These kinds of things are breaths of fresh air during the part of the year where I don't get to see many girls.
