Well, overprotective parents wouldn't want their daughter to have sex with anyone at all, but the less extreme ones think that older men are more dangerous since they "know more about life". Younger girls are more naive than mature woman, so it's often assumed that older men who seek for young girls want them for sex since it's easier to trick them.

And it often is anyway, many young girls are indeed very careless and look for a partner just because they're desperate for someone to trust, and who could make them happy, often prefering "bad" dudes because good ones wouldn't really pay attention to them due to social expectations. And since parents' don't trust their daughters since they never really cared about their emotions, they prefer to just be "overprotective".
