I wasn't thinking of that specifically, but it may be related.

I was merely thinking that a person has to be comfortable with their own self (including the shortcomings that everyone has) before they can form a good relationship with someone else. One should not depend on others for one's own happiness.

As you note, this is completely separate from the type of people that one is attracted to.
