It really isn't harder to be close to girls when you're older. I understand how some might think it is that way, because of how society makes a conscious effort at segregation. I am very aware that, as a general rule, high school gives you more free time than university, and both give you more free time than working. However, other than that, I really think the barriers are partly self-erected. Though I explicitly believe that it is unwise to volunteer in youth groups whether it is boy scouts or little league because of the high risk of an accusation; I don't think that interaction in general, happening apart from such over-regulated AND over-populated environments, really is that hard. My experience, anyway, doesn't tell me so. The great majority of girls I ever interact with seem to sincerely enjoy me and believe befriending me could be nice; the only thing stopping us from more would be the segregation present in society. But that segregation starts at 15, not at 25 or 30 or 35. If you keep your heart young, you're in for being easy friends with girls forever.

Now yes, I have missed opportunities. All of them, now, are gone probably forever. And reflecting back on them, I cannot see any realistic possibility so negative that it merits my shyness back then. I could have done more for all my loves of yesterday, all of them. That is partly why I become, today, so obsessive about every detail of my current ones.
