I think we like both like punk, but at opposite ends of the spectrum. My favorite band is The Damned and my favorite song by them is either "Plan 9 Channel 7" or "Melody Lee". What I look for in punk is a punk band that's not afraid to get spooky. That's why TSOL is another favorite of mine. Where as a lot of hardened punks really dislike their "Beneath The Shadows" album, I love it. When it comes to The Misfits, I'll take "Legacy of Brutality" over "Earth AD" any day. Point is, if it's really thrashy and bordering on metal, I'll ignore it. That kinda stuff does nothing for me. I think this has to do with all of the Joy Division, Bauhaus, and Siouxsie and the Banshees I listened to before I really got into punk. I also really like bands like The UK Subs and The Adverts. The Stranglers, too.
