This is why little girls love Girl Lovers. We pay attention to them and that is arguably what they want more than anything else. When the rest of the adult world pays attention to them at all, it is usually to tell them to stop doing something, start doing something, or simply, "Go away!", i.e. "Why don't you go play with your little brother and let the adults talk?"

When, in a room full of adults, a GL will select the child to talk with, she takes it as a compliment, and quickly becomes a friend. When we let our inner child out to play, the current child is only too happy to join in:)
