And although the photo has never changed ( even though it has been censored from time to time ) I wonder if her changing testimony would make interpreters of the still image see a proud child or an abused child to conform to her account?

I'm inclined to believe that it will be "read" by each according to their views or in light of changing information about its creation-narrative.

Heck, the FBI has fits over smiling girls in KP. I imagine that haughty/sullen gives them even more room to project their narrative over the artist's creation and the performance it records.
