Touché, although I eat more healthily than you may think. As for Mary, she is an unrepentant sweetnik and getting her to eat anything but candy or sugary snacks is a task of epic proportions. I should point out that when we got home from swimming I did manage get her to eat a hot dog with cheese and a chicken plank (which, incidentally, is more actual food than I'd ever seen her eat in one sitting)--she'd told me on the drive home that she wasn't hungry, but I knew she hadn't eaten for at least four hours (other than the snacks we'd brought with us, which in hindsight really wasn't very much at all.) So I started listing off the things we had, hoping one of them would stick on her. The hot dog did the trick. But also, when she got a whiff of my chicken planks, she wanted one of those, and I gladly handed one over. Mary does love fruit, and when I have it she's welcome to it. Unfortunately, it doesn't last long in my house.
