I was out walking in the beautiful summer weather, thinking about girls, hoping to spot one or several. I came across a park that was packed with little children. I considered stopping for some rest, thinking that the stereotype of the pervert on a park bench was sufficiently countered by the fact that all kinds of people come to the park to either play or relax on a nice day. But, it occurred to me that the children there looked pretty much all too young for my tastes. (Apologies to the many "true" peds on this board.) I was thinking to myself, the girls I like best are the ones who are old enough to hang out without parental supervision, but still too young to drive themselves around town. (That's where the older boyfriend comes into play.)

Then I found myself walking past the athletic quarter. In a basketball court, a group of shirtless teen guys were shooting hoops. In a nearby baseball field, a team of young boys was practicing under the supervision of a coach. Naturally, I was left wondering where all the teen and tween girls were hanging out on such a sunny summer day. Oh yeah, probably indoors at the mall. Or hey - at the pool, working on their tans!

And then it occurred to me, that while I could sit behind the fence on the bleachers and watch those boys play baseball without raising any alarm - after all, baseball is a spectator sport - if I were to pick a spot behind the fence bordering the local pool from which to watch the girls in their swimsuits soaking in the sun (which is actually a whole lot more exciting than it sounds), there is a much greater chance that I would be singled out as a pervert.

Hm. Perhaps I should invest in a swim pass!
