...but nothing Obama has done in the never-ending war on "terror" has prevented attacks on our soil. The 9/11 incident was mostly made up of perps who were Saudi Arabian, a Middle Eastern nation guilty of numerous human rights atrocities, but which America considers an ally because they do business according to American business interests. The number of innocent people killed during 9/11--as tragic as that was--is nothing compared to the number of innocent civilians, including numerous children, killed by U.S. bombing assaults both before and since that day. If America doesn't change its international policies, then it should come as no wonder to you why so many people across the world loathe us, and blame the people for the imperialist havoc the American government routinely wreaks in our name. The more innocent people America blows to bits, the more terrorists will be recruited for anti-American campaigns in the future.
We cannot grant exceptionalist license to America to kill as many children as they want if we purport to care about children. If it's true that the Taliban and other enemies of America are hiding in areas concentrated by many innocent civilians, including children, then we need to insist that America changes tactics in taking them out, including making terrorism a law enforcement issue, which it should be, rather than a military issue; declaring war on a tactic, rather than an entire nation whose government has launched an assault on us, is ludicrous. I, of course, do not believe that the Taliban are in these areas to use civilians as a shield, because America has never hesitated to blow innocent children to bits in order to do business as usual in Middle Eastern countries. And as long as American citizens evince the dark side of patriotism by patting the President on the back when he initiates such atrocious acts--as you did in your post--we lose more credibility and more of the ethical high ground in the eyes of the international community. There is more to the world than America and the business interests of its ruling class, and we need to keep that in mind.
