Nepali girls wed god

Before reaching puberty, Hindu girls in Nepal get married to the god Vishnu, for protection. In total, girls get wed three times: once, to Vishnu, between the ages of 6 and 9; a second time at 11 or 13 to the Sun, for additional protection; and the third time to their real, human husband, usually around the age of 25.

Now if only the gods and celestial bodies didn't get "first pickings," and we humans could marry the girls when they're young! LOL
