The Arts and the Outs

Most artists are justifiably proud about their art. Similarly hobbyists tend to wax rhapsodic about their hobbies.

Just be careful in doing so that you don't accidentally out yourself.

There are algorithms out there that can analyze word-choice rarity. And anyone with a reasonably good eye can also spot linguistic idiosyncrasies. But which texts to compare? When you discuss hobbies and arts which you also discuss elsewhere on the Net, you give opportunities for comparison.

Some folks who discuss the same things cross-forum are already out. Others who discuss art a lot, like myself, discovered GC early-on, and don't "exist" on the Net as anything other than our GL selves.

But do be careful when you give details.

The tendency to promote oneself caused at least one GCer in the past to link directly to his RL IDed art project. Not a good thing.
