In part, this is due to "our culture" being an amalgam of multiple conflicting cultures.
Though the cognitive dissonance trickles downward to the point where it affects thinking within even a singular worldview; and you end up with what Hamburger sees: the person for whom being sex-positive is a badge of their open-mindedness except when it comes to kids.
Now, to nitpick over semantics.
..."to enjoy the beauty, pleasures, and mysteries that sexuality adds to the fulcrum of human experience."
It seems to me that "fulcrum" isn't the right word. "The fulcrum" is the "pivot point;" and metaphorically its generally used to talk about something singular and specific, rather than something multiple and inclusive. "Spectrum" is a more apt candidate. ( Although Grundoon is reading over my shoulder and suggests "speculum." )
