I find it strange that a Ukrainian citizen who produced KP was in Thailand. Assuming he really is a KP producer, then for a variety of reasons (not all the usual ones people here are going to give), it would be much safer for him to remain in the Ukraine or at least a FSU country. Going to Thailand is asking for trouble, in his case, even if he wasn't doing anything illegal while there.

In any case he must have committed totally amateurish mistakes - KP producers are identified by visual clues and details within the media themselves (eg "snow - not in Florida"), or by LEOs contacting them for trade forcing to reveal real life contact details. It seems like he, otoh, never made a real attempt to obscure his identity, making either of these unnecessary.

But it's rich how Amerikkka arrests (or has arrested by Y) citizens of X for "crimes" committed in X, and yet tantrums like a toddler when Amerikkkans are retained in Iran, Egypt, North Korea, Cuba... Many Americans get mad at anyone saying that America is an Empire; but this is the behavior of an Empire. And if it walks like a duck...
