Not necessarily lauded, as their actions were representative of the sins which required the sacrifice in the first place - but certainly not to be blamed any more than the rest of humanity, whose errors required the sacrifice.

And, of course, anyone attempting to punish the "Christ killers" has entirely missed the point and become chief culprits in the murder of Christ themselves.
