I agree, being able to talk openly about our kind of attraction, without being stopped in mid-track would be a big part of the battle won.
Such discussions could be prefaced with the idea that there really isn't true freedom of speech. That may help to get (some) people on our side.
Needless to say, I don't think, for one, that you are at all a hypocrite, etc.
