I grew up before the hysteria had started in earnest.

But yes, there were no accounts written by GLers that I could find.

However I KNEW that I wasn't a monster and wasn't interested in hurting girls. Further, since I knew that my story wasn't being told I figured that there must be a lot more like me.

But the difference between knowing that you aren't alone, and seeing the proof with your own eyes is very large.
