Eraser links

All the paid software that has been named is good and sound, BCWipe&East-Tec Eraser are very complete, I would like to add Protectstar Data Shredder to the list of paid for erases that do a good job.

Free alternatives are Eraser to wipe files and BleachBit to wipe your Internet browsing. They are both free and open source.

I would also look into using a live CD with tor for serious privacy, something like Tails:
